Testimony of Sister Bernard Marie
Religious life for me is the response to a call to leave everything to follow Jesus Christ. It is what I did on February 2, 1954, to enter the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Calais, today Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady.
For this, I wanted to be a missionary – which happened in 1958, when I was sent to Djibouti, then in 1960 to Madagascar where I am still today.
I thank the Lord for all the graces He grants me every day and I ask Mary to help me to do the will of God and to say every day of my life: "I am the servant of the Lord, be it done to me according to His Word.” ( Luke 1,38)
I am happy, I love God and the sisters he has given me. I do not regret having given myself entirely to God in the Franciscan religious life.
