Thanksgiving day, 125 years of our presence in fafe

How good it is to remember... How much gratitude we owe to God for so many benefits received over time in the places where we live our religious vocation and serve in mission the population of Fafe, specifically the sick in the Hospital of S. José and the elderly in Santo António Asylum, both, from the Holy House of Mercy of Fafe. In the past, we also served the Montenegro Asylum-School for the education of girls, supported by the Fafe City Council. We collaborated in the Parish, namely, in the liturgical dynamism and in catechesis, we did nursing at home; we were where our presence was a help.

Here we want to pay tribute to so many Sisters who passed through Fafe and served with dedication and humanism to all without distinction. Some  Sisters who were part of these communities are present here.

We tried to live our charism in the family spirit, in the joy of fraternity, in unity and communion, and we passed it on to all those around us. We can say with the psalmist: Oh! how good and pleasant it is to live together in harmony.

We always feel good serving, in Fafe, in collaboration with Holy House of Mercy, with whom we have always maintained the best relations, where we have always been and are respected and cherished, so say the Sisters who are here today and how much they missed when they left here for another mission.

With God's grace and as long as we are allowed, we will continue to serve in Fafe, although in smaller numbers, but we are here to walk together.
