Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady XXXIII General Chapter

"Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady consecrated to the service of life. Communion, participation, mission."

This week, the sisters gathered at the Chapter are called to elect the Superior General and the General Councillors. The mission of the new General Government will be to ensure the unity of the Congregation during the next five years, and to implement the calls received at this Chapter.

As "members of the same body who help and animate each other. " (Mother Louise, 1854), we thank the sisters on the new Council for accepting the office and we assure them by our prayer and support.

Here are the members of the new Council elected for 5 years:

• Sister Maria Alcina Alpande (Portuguese) - Superior General   
• Sister Maria Helena Moreira (Portuguese) - General Assistant
• Sister Yvette Briquet (French) - general counsel
• Sister Sylvia Soamanato (Malagasy) - general counsel
• Sister Aklile Mangestu (Ethiopian) - general counsel  (Was not present at the chapter)
