Mother Louise, icon of humility
To remember our first Superior General is to show an example of love, humility and fidelity to God.
In the writings of the Congregation we find this:
“Mother Louise Mabille was calm, gentleness, patience, humility personified. With extraordinary zeal, a great capacity for work, Mother Louise always tried to go unnoticed, attributing all the merits to her collaborators. With intelligence, prudence, wisdom and persuasion, she worked to unite and develop the Congregation, spreading it to other dioceses in France.»
Gradually, by the power of the Holy Spirit, our sisters have spread, on mission, in the world, to bear witness to the Gospel in the manner of Saint Francis of Assisi, while trying to live the spirit of Union and Communion in diverse cultures.
Like Mother Louise, woman of prayer, contemplation and deep fraternal relationship, let us allow ourselves to be seduced by the same gaze of God that led Mother Louise.
Let us carry in our hearts this singular phrase:
"Let us all be members of the same body which help and animate each other."
(Mère Loiuse, june 1854)
