Perpetual Profession - Ethiopia August 22, 2024
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven"
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady (FMOL), Ethiopia is delighted and grateful to God to made the final Profession of Vows of Sr. Andualem Adem, Yemeserach Bekele, Medehanit Nure. On August 22/24, in Nazareth St. Joseph Church, in the presence of Bishop Markos Ghebremedhin,(CM), the Bishop of Jimma-Bonga, and Many other priests, sisters, parishioners, the family members of the sisters and, were able to came and witness this joyful celebration .
Bishop Markos Ghebremedhin, (CM), the Bishop of Jimma-Bonga, officiated the ceremony. The theme chosen for the day was “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal, but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither month nor rust destroy, and where thieves do not break in or steal… (Matthew 6:19-20). “
After the Eucharistic celebration we shared fraternal meal in the congregation’s assembly hall followed by coffee ceremony according to Ethiopian Traditional. I, Sr.Abebech Kiftaga the regional minister thanked the sisters’ parents for offering their daughters to the church and to our congregation, and thanked God and everyone who journeyed with them till now and requested all to continue their usually support and prayer for the next journey of spiritual and social life.
