Testimony - Mission in Timor-Leste
Oecussi is in the enclave of Timor with Indonesia, the only land border that Timor has. With the Capuchin brothers, we are doing a time of vocation ministry in some parishes in agreement with the parish priests. These are constant challenges:
- Language expression because they speak dialect and not Tetum.
- Large electricity cuts.
- Sleep on the floor and often without water
- Lead these young women on a path of vocational discernment.
Here there is a grand tendency to close themselves, which is normal, the families have lived oppressive 24 years and now I'm going to break down the door of life, it's not easy.
The biggest of them all is: to make to understand to the families their children are going to discover their vocation and we are with them.
I know that we are not alone and Jesus who has sent us does not abandon us.
I feel like Francis of Assisi the responsibility of the brothers and sisters and I hear the echo: "since the Lord gave me brothers and sisters, I have wanted nothing more than to live the Holy Gospel... "
Soon we will welcome some young girls who come from other mountains that we once visited.
Let us continue to pray". The harvest is great!
